I got in to Santa Clara! I got in to Santa Clara!
It's in the Silicon Valley, and it's ranked in the 70's, which isn't bad at all. As far as IP goes, though, it's a really good school.
I'm just glad to be accepted somewhere, it's a relief. Now if I get in nowhere else, I at least know I'm going to law school next year. Phew!
This was the only school I applied for Early Decision on, which is why I know so early. (It's the only school that offered a non-binding early decision.)
Yay! Now I'm going to go out and drink some Cherny Bock at my favorite Bavarian Brew Pub!

I haven't been able to wipe the stupid grin off my face all night. I kept having this somewhat irrational fear that everyone was going to turn me down, so it's a load off to have an acceptance.
I am holding out for Berkeley, indeed. I have until the end of March to give Santa Clara my first deposit, so there's still time to see if Berkeley and other schools come through. Yay!
Wait... March? Does this mean you could potentially be leaving as early as March or April?
We won't have time to get any more mountains in before that! :(
Sorry for all the weird typos I've had in the last couple of comments. I don't know what's gotten into me lately.
No no, I'm not leaving until probably the beginning of next August. Maybe late July at the earliest. March is just the first deposit deadline to secure my spot in the class of 09. They have to have their class filled well before August, and so they set deadlines for acceptees to give their decisions, so that if they say no, the school can offer the spot to someone else.
We will get some good trails in before I leave, I promise. I'm still planning on Timpanogos, more Wasatch exploring, and I've got to take you to Zion as well for some excellent southern Utah hiking. Next spring and summer will be rife with outdoor adventure, for sure.
(Don't worry, I don't fault grammar in comments. I make plenty of errors in comments myself. They aren't held to the same standards as other writing, in my view.)
